Leo, Amanda, Jim, and Byron presented at the 2026 Claims & Litigation Conference of McDonald’s Tort Litigation Practice Group.
Their session, “Can AI Think Like a Real Jury? Using AI Jury Simulation to Prepare Litigation Strategy,” looked at how simulated jurors compare with real ones, and how a litigation team can use them to prepare its strategy before trial.
Arnold & Porter invited Leo and Amanda to Park City to present on using jury simulation in intellectual property litigation.

Working through one realistic business question, Leo and Jim showed how quick follow-up studies challenge early findings, test stronger alternatives, expose boundary conditions, and sharpen the leading ideas.

What can AI simulation add that would be impossible with human research? Byron answered with work from his Stanford seminar in AI simulation: specialty samples, sensitive topics, physiological and behavioral responses, and testing in complex media such as AR and VR.

His larger point: this is not confined to a lab. Simulation software available today puts this research within reach of any researcher.
BCLP invited Leo and Amanda to present Viewpoints.ai’s jury simulation technology at a live mock trial in Seattle.

The two juries agreed on the main verdict-form questions. The discussion then turned to the reasoning behind their decisions, and how an argument’s delivery can shape a juror’s response.
Byron joined a panel at the LF Dealmakers Annual Forum, moderated by Erika Levin of Fox Rothschild, to discuss AI jury simulation and what it could mean for litigation research. The central theme was the move from AI Legal Tech 1.0 to 2.0.
